CTA and CDOT strive to provide opportunities to all, including those with disabilities or limited English proficiency, to participate fully in all public engagement activities. To help achieve this, information about the project is presented in several alternative forms.
Language Translation
The Better Streets for Buses website has a Google Translate feature, located in the top right corner of every webpage on the site, which allows visitors to choose their preferred language. A downloadable summary of the project has also been translated and can be found in the Document Library.
Live Spanish interpretation was made available for the virtual public meetings. Translatable, live closed captioning was also available for other languages.
Accessibility
Throughout the project, key project materials and feedback opportunities were recreated in alternative formats to provide similar opportunities to engage and provide feedback, including live American Sign Language translation at the virtual public meetings. The Better Streets for Buses Network, which is provided primarily as a map and summary table, has also been recreated as a more detailed list of all the specific street segments that are included within each corridor. The detailed table is available here on the website and as part of the Plan document.
